I’m Ashley “ashleyriott” Blake — strategist, communicator, and advocate for innovation at the intersection of leadership, technology, and inclusivity. ✨
After using VR as part of my recovery from spine surgery in 2018, I realized the transformative potential of immersive technology and decided to leave my 14-year career in retail pharmacy to explore the future of human connection through tech, where I have remained since. 🌐
Over the past several years, I’ve contributed to more than 50 projects spanning emerging technologies, gaming, and nonprofit advocacy, helping teams build systems, craft strategies, and drive impactful change.
I’m also the founder of elsewhereNFP, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to innovating inclusivity in the gaming industry through data-driven insights, responsive research, and resources. We help event organizers and industry stakeholders create safer spaces and build meaningful, lasting change. Our work bridges the gap between marginalized voices and industry leaders by facilitating conversation, collaboration, and education. 🎮
I enjoy public speaking, and have been honoured to share insights at events like GDC, AWE, devcom/gamescom, and Reboot Develop Blue, covering topics such as community building, DE&I, and leadership in emerging tech industries. I believe in the power of storytelling and technology to inspire, educate, and connect people across the globe. You can find many of those sessions on this website.🗣️
